According to GuildWiki, it's in Divine Path (after Imperial Sanctum mission - the last mission of the game).

Yup, after you stick a fork in Shiro, you're zipped off to Divine Path, and there are like two or three of them floating around.

ok thanks. They look funny but I like phoenixs with rangers. Just wish they had kept closer to the Asain's version of the phoenix.

Um? All pets are the same damage wise except some do Slashing and others do Piercing. A spider isn't the best persay, just meant to be the hardest to get, therefore the most prestigous.

Now if you were doing a Phoenix rank emote, that would be the best screenshot ever.

All pets deal the same amount of damage. The only difference is the type of damage, i.e. Piercing, Slashing, etc. It depends only on the level of your pet and the evolution of your pet.
P.S. The only exception is the bear, it actually deals less damage because of the slightly slower attack speed due to Brutal Mauling...

Yea Its a hard HARD call for me. I mean I have had my Dune Lizard Godzuki almost from the beginning... He is evolved Three times actually. from Playful to Dire to Hearty. I Didn't even know pets could change that many times. And it may be my imagination but I swear he is a little bigger then he used to be.
I may jsut keep him and make a new ranger but IDK... Its a toss up atm between My original pet, Black Moa Bird (lev 20 at cap) or Phoenix and have to go through leveling him again... I had a spider in the beginning, and I changed to my dune lizard cause I wanted to evolve a pet the way I wanted, not automatic Elder... Now of course there are many options for the spider then there was before... But I still like my pet atm.. its really really hard to give him up... I wish I could spend some gold for another Charm Animal to trade off with. lol
And boy I wish I had a rank Phoenix emote. but alas I'm still like 40 fame short of a Deer, cause I just don't play enough Heroes Ascent...

Maybe it would help if I told you the actual phoenixes you can capture are much much smaller than the two standing by the empereor.

I know what you mean, my Hearty Stalker has been with me since presear, and I'm keeping him . If I want a phoenix, I'd better make a new character.
Yes, the pets change at two different levels. What they change into depends on how you've used them, whether they've dealt a lot of damage or taken it, etc. This will have a slight impact on the pet's final stats, whether they have a damage bonus, higher hp, or are somewhere in the middle. And yes, they do get better. I believe a lvl 20 pet is something like 1/3 - 2/3 larger than the original animal.

A...little bigger huh?
Well in the screenshot, that lizard would be taller than you if he stood up on 2 legs. and when you first cap them, they're about the size of your boot.
Just a little bigger

No... 'Minipets' don't do anything apart from follow you around. Where as regular pets obiviously follow and fight by your side.
